The rack thing looks pretty nifty. All the developers should do that. NI should have a rack for their Komplete FX and it should be available in Kontakt. IK should have Amplitube FX and T-Racks available in SampleTank.

I bought v4 bundle that included v5 bundle of everything +rack.
off to look and see. might have fun playing tonight with all the new plugins I never had before.

Just as an FYI...once you get it installed and authorized...and Sonar scans the new plugs...and you've added the ones you didn't have to Sonar's Plugin Manager...don't forget to add "Effects Rack" as well. There is no indication of it being a SoundToys plug...but it's how you get the rack.

I'm about to take advantage of my $50 (!!!) upgrade offer, but the comments I'm seeing all over KVR about v5 plugins not properly recalling settings from projects using v4 plugins have me a bit worried. Have any of you guys checked this with SPlat? Is it safe?

V5 replaces v4 plugins. presets "should" load and there shouldn't be a problem but there is. Soundtoys is looking into it.
if you know the preset you can just manually select it and your off and running. but tweaked custom settings sore of sometimes don't load right now.
I currently have no old projects that have soundtoys saved and imbedded in them. I got no issue with the v5 at all with presets. they load if I load um.
other users this is a huge issue as soundtoys are on every track and a preset wrong here or there screws everything.

hmmm...
So I only have Echoboy 5, Microshift, Little Primal Tap, and Little AlterBoy. Soundtoys site says I can upgrade to the full bundle for $220.
This wasn't on my radar - but wow it seems tempting.

Yeah, that's my concern. I don't think I've created a new project in the last 3 years that doesn't have at least one ST v4 plugin (usually multiple ST plugins) and they're pretty much all either custom settings or tweaked presets. I think I'll buy the upgrade, but hold off on installing until they fix it.

I have Timeless and I use it a lot less than Soundtoys, mostly because they are just a bit easier to use. Timeless is great for really exotic delays, but is a lot less useful than I thought it would be when I bought it. Soundtoys never fail to find a spot on a track...

I'd go for the full FabFilter suite over the SoundToys collection. But having both is perfect! If I only could get a selection from both it would be easier ;)

thanks guys! The reason I ask is I have FabFilter Timeless 2, Volcano, and Saturn now but I find I always use something else. I could sell them and afford the upgrade to the full Soundtoys 5 suite from what I have now. I find it telling that people seem to think the Soundtoys stuff "just works" - maybe I'd get some use out of them.

Ah, that puts things in a different perspective. For bread and butter stuff FabFilter is better. But those plugins, if you don't use them and can swap them for SoundToys then to me it sounds like a no brainier. I would do that. SoundToys is rather unique. I bet you'll love them!

There is an update available, no changelog, no email notification, just happened to have noticed it when I logged into my Soundtoys account.

Thanks for that! I wouldn't have known otherwise about that recent, recent update to 5.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Heard back from Soundtoys:
Hey Bob,We're working on our notification update system for V5, so we are still smoothing things over.
5.0.1.10839 includes a fix for crashing in Studio One 3.1 and Live 9.2.3 on Windows 8 & 10, as well as updated Pace drivers to prevent error messages for computer-based authorizations.
We emailed anybody who had written in about one of those issues, since this was a pretty targeted fix.
