New AKAI MPC Touch - Game changer.

New AKAI MPC Touch:

So if the sequencer is good enough, and of the reviews are good enough, this might make me jump ship from Maschine.

I mainly bought Maschine to get workflow away from my DAW, but because of patterns/scene limitations, and poor DAW intigration (where I want to ultimately end up doing the recording and mixing) I'm still tethered to the DAW. An expensive mistake perhaps.

This AKAI thing though has it's own soundcard and you need to carry about a laptop. Well let's see if this thing is as good as it appears..

Another thing I'm thinking, Cakewalk better jump onto the tablet DAW thing pretty fast. Yup touch screen is built in but they are really going to have to think about redesigning the Sonar UI bottom up to accommodate. Even my android tablet has much nicer UI to play with when it comes to sequencing and recording. Sure not as sophisticated but it's catching up big time.

I've been running Sonar on a Tablet PC for 1 1/2 years now - doing serious stuff like playing / recording live shows. It's a windows tablet, of course, with an SSD, so it's no toy ...

I don't need Sonar on Android or other gimmicks. I have walked away from IK as they don't seem to do anything serious anymore ...
