Techniques to get my covers to sound better on my cellphone

So I've heard of acoustic treatment but unfortunately my mom won't let me put it up because of her walls eh. I'm pretty good at EQ and such but I really need to know how I can get a better sound on all platforms. Thanks!

    If you have a good pair of monitors but are unable to treat your room, you might consider the ARC2 room correction system which corrects the problems in your room at the software level. It's not cheap but it's probably cheaper than buying a load of bass traps, and it's very effective if you take the time to set it up properly i.e. following the instructions to the letter.

    If you're forced to work in a poor monitoring environment the only way is to make a mix after another and listen to them in all kinds of systems to find out the tricks your room and your monitors require.
     
    Then again - there is no monitors, no room, no guide, no room treatment, no software in the world- that somehow guarantee that you'll get well transferrable, good mixes without a lot of trial and error. 

    SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

    I guess the 1st question should be what are you using for monitors. If they are consumer grade PC monitors, no amount of room treatment would help anyway. They are mostly made to sound good by hyping certain frequencies. You can make a mix that sound good in that room with those speakers and that's about it. If that's all you can get right now, you may want to consider a few options for mixing with headphones. The focusrite VRM box or Sonarworks reference 3 plugin might be the best option for you.
     Mixing in an untreated room with standard consumer monitors is kind of like painting in the dark IMO

    bottom line is,
    anything recorded in a 'bad' room is going to sound like that room...
     
    and the better the mics, and front end, the worst it will sound.
     
     
    if you cannot do sound treatments,
    then you need to find another room to track and mix in.
