Can't find "Use per-project audio folders"--SOLVED. Thanks to all.

In older versions, it was in the preferences/file/audio data menu.  Where is it now?

Thanks, Bob.  That does not seem to be the case with my set up.  Gotta do some more investigation.

Per-Project Audio is now dependent on whether or not you started the project from a template or not.

I always use a project template when I create a new project, so it is always present for me.

the other day, I too discovered that Per-Project Audio was NOT happening, but it was for a project not started using a project template.

I am not sure at all what would happen if you manually put an audio folder in the project folder, if the project did not start with a template - I would think you would certainly be able to save it that way, but I do not imagine it would store future audio clips in the Audio sub-folder you added manually.

    This is Ipswich

The only way I know of to start a new project without using a template, is File>New and choose Blank Project

If I go ahead and give it a file name, the path for PPA is automatically set

If I proceed WITHOUT naming the project at this point (above), the blank project is created.  Then when I choose File>Save,
the Save As dialog is presented.

There is still a path prefilled for Audio ... entering the project name and project path causes the project directory to be created and the Audio Path is automatically adjusted accordingly.

It looks to me like the only way to avoid PPA is to change the Audio Path to somewhere different in the last dialog above before clicking [Save].

Is there another way to create a project?

That's it!  I am not doing File/New.  I've just been clicking on File/Open.

BUT...the folder defaults to C\Cakewalk Projects.

How do I get it to default to D\Cakewalk Projects.  I already have the file created on the D drive.  I'd rather not have to change the file location every time I start a new project.
