Updated to 2.4 (which I think Mr Mudgel has dealt with), but there's a slightly enhanced version as of this morning at https://www.dropbox.com/s/fqu3ze2fglif7es/CupCake2.4.zip?dl=0

Couple of changes (in help tab where necessary):
- Option to auto-clean "bad" files and VST paths on startup
- Option to auto-scan VSTs on startup
- "Better" (in my opinion!) display of recent files
- A few performance optimisations

Hey, well done Mudgel. I didn't notice this new sticky thread until just now. This will be handy.

I guess I'm going to have to check all the other forums to see if the sticky's have changed.

It's been up since June 12th. I think it's unique in that this is the only member (me) maintained sticky. There's about 11 or so programs at the moment.
I'm currently working on a full MP3 tutorial outlining the 5 or 6 choices available and the steps to take to realise your choice.

Just make sure to check out the first thread from time to time as that's where all the program links are.

Shall I hunt him (arlen2133) down and tattoo a cupcake on his forehead so he never forgets. On the other hand I fail to see how any of the programs could help with Melodyne running properly.

If there was a VST path duplication, CupCake does/can dedupe.  Possibility anyway...

Hi finally got round to finding this utility -
contaced the developer. and replied:

"The INS to Drum Map tool can be downloaded on my web page "Audible

In the left menu area, click on
"Cakewalk Sonar" under "Tools".

Or use this direct download link:

Converts instrument definitions to drum map..

It's able to read csv files too... but havnt tested that yet .. (handy for making drum maps/keyswitches for sample libraries - possibly!)

quote from website:  (link fixed above)

"This tool will convert an instrument definition (ins file) into a drum map for Cakewalk Sonar. (Essentially, any text file with a mapping from midi note number to drum instrument name can be used.) The created drum map uses default values for most parameters and is not linked to a particular virtual instrument, so it's mainly the first step and may require enhancements to be done in Sonar directly."

Good luck with the wedding too!

bloody hell! That's serious. Where is it broken and how did you manage to do that? You probably wish it had happened over there as it is a real medical tourism hotspot and the Aussie system seems quite expensive.

I hope you have good air-con mudgel, it could be quite an irritant.

Re: Utilities for use with Sonar. 2015/10/09 02:26:07 (permalink)
Like any good grandparent, I wanted my grandkids to benefit from my many years of life experience.

So we were at the pool and what better time for a lesson in water safety; the jumping safely into a pool lesson.

Point 1 make sure water is not shallow. Check. It was about 6 ft or so. I had just been in the pool.

This is how you do a safety jump. Whoops! Not quite. Front leg stiff I jump into the pool and the heel of that foot (my left one) hits the pool floor followed by excruciating sharp pain inside my knee.

That part called the tibial plateau has a crack in it about 50% through. A little more and surgery would have been needed. Aren't I lucky, I avoided surgery. So swollen they got 85 mis of blood out.

It did happen in Phuket in one of the resorts' many pools. I've become quite the celebrity and they can't do enough for me, but the lack of a suitable wheelchair at the resort makes it mpossible to get around on my own. Everything is complicated by the bad back I've been carrying for years. Crutches impossible and the walking frame i had to buy is next to useless.

More updates as time passes. Thanks guys.

Gee, I can imagine that would be very painful. I know a guy who did something similar- he fell from scaffolding and landed on his feet.... not pretty.

Might as well lap up all the attention now cos you just know when you do recuperate you will be catching grief about your famous "safety lesson" :)

The reason I wrote my last post with an attempt at humour was that I've been the butt of jokes ever since it happened. There's not a great deal of compassion on show for the father of the bride when he does something that continues to feed funny lines. Kind of like the unscratchable itch you get inside a plaster cast.. It just doesn't go away.
