"Long Gone"- New mix with vocals up

I've had a lot of good feedback on this song, appreciate everyone taking the time to listen and comment. Most folks thought the vocals should come up in the mix so I've done that. I also remixed the piano part a little.
It's called "Long Gone"

Here's the link to the old mix if anyone is interested:

Guitars- Strat, Tele, Taylor acoustic
Bass- Yamaha bass through Amplitube 3
Drums- AD2
Keys- Native Instruments Kontakt
Vocals- TC-Helicon VoiceLive 3

Thanks again for listening, hope you enjoy it!

    Hi Bob,

    Nice job with Long Gone.

I'm no expert here, but I'm wondering if anyone else thinks that the lead vocal could come up a bit in the mix. It almost becomes part of the backing vocals when they kick in...

    Nice playing and guitar tones

    cheers

I'm listening to this on a laptop and the mix sounds pretty darned good. Of course I have the sound low 'cause the wife is still asleep but the vocals sound really nice to me. I absolutely love the lead guitar tone and the tasteful note choices, really good stuff. The background vocals are just great too. Sorry for no critical feedback, this is just a great effort! Thanks for posting it.

Andy - You're probably right, I could bring the lead vocal up bit, I'm always afraid of getting it too loud

Kevin - I really appreciate the listen, hope it didn't wake your wife!

The lead guitar is my Strat through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 2X12 amp, then I added just a touch of Transient shaper to sharpen the attack just a bit.

The background vocals are just me singing through the TC-Helicon VoiceLive 3. It's an amazing piece of gear, it'll do anything from a second harmony part up to an entire choir.

Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate it!

Great tune and very nice guitar playing, sounds a bit like Eric Clapton to my ears . Listening to the tune on my built-in monitor speakers the lead vocal seems a bit distant and like Andy suggested maybe turning it up a tad would probably solve this.

    Loved it :)

Yeah, I'm hearing a bit of Clapton in there too.  Nicely done.   The lead tone sounds great here - I like how you've used the Transient Shaper to give just a little extra edge.  I need to remember that one.    The vocals sound good (maybe a bit low here and there) and the TC unit sounds great!

About the only thing I wanted to hear was a few B3 lines after the guitar solo.

What I liked the most about this track is its simplicity. Very nicely done !!

Really cool tune and nice sounding production. I thought vox could come up a bit.

This works well here and as noted some nice guitar tone, the lead vox could come up a bit with the harmonies.

Very nice song here Bob! I think this mix is very close, but I too would like the vox up a bit. The harmonies need to come up a bit as well, and maybe spread them out left and right.

Thanks for the listens and the comments guys, all much appreciated!
I'm working on a remix now, focusing on the vox but also the piano, not real happy with the eq on it.
I hope to have it up by tonight (Monday).
    Again, thanks a lot!
