Bathyscaphe
Hi Guys,It's been awhile since I've written anything. Work load and life has kept me away from music. Yesterday I got out my guitar and wrote this piece. I don't think its finished yet, and I haven't done too much on the mixing side of things either. I just wanted to share with you good people and would ask for feedback.Nice to be back here and writing again :)https://soundcloud.com/russ-white/bathyscaphe Newer version.....https://soundcloud.com/russ-white/bathysphere2

I really enjoyed this song, and I especially liked the way you approached the ending. It's a sweet, sad little tune that deserves to be finished. The sound is wonderful as well, and the mix sounds fine. More, please. :)

Nice one Gus. I thought that the cello phrase endings cutoff too abruptly in spots early on. I'd play the notes a little longer and fade them. Regards, Dan

This has lots of potential just needs a few hours work and you know what I mean by that, it is all there just some polish to finish it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Russ, I liked this a lot... I'd grow it some more... Add another three or four minutes and add some guitar melody...

+1 to the above - it ain't done yet! I like the general melancholy feel. The portamento-ish cello runs were pretty cool and everything seems to fit well together.

Many many thanks for your words of encouragement. I have had a little more time on it and have added an extra minute or so. I still might keep going seeing where the music takes me. I've put version number 2 up as well. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks for listening

Liked it! A little surprised of the style of music when seeing your guitar icon. Everything is fitting together fine. Maybe a clearer end of the song? The piano pattern is great.

Hey, Gus, Very relaxing, contemplative piece of music with a fresh sounding, Classical vibe along with dramatic cinematic textures! The mix sounds clear and full, and the orchestration is detailed and very rich sounding. Great work, really well done! Bob

I thought that was great, I listened to version 2. Some nifty changes in there, unexpectedstuff. It sounds like it has a lot to say. Which might be something to think about, because after listening to it, I couldn't recall a theme, a melody. It's a really really cool meander! Do you maybe want to develop a particular melodic line and feature that, and hang everything else off of it? Did I miss it completely? The instruments you have chosen go together very well. Super movie montage music! cheers, -Tom

Thanks for listening guys. meander is what I'm going for. The journey of the sub down to the depths of the ocean. :) thanks for the input Tom, You do make a lot of good points and ideas that could come from them. But for this theme, I feel it is done. Thanks again for everyone that put their thoughts up here. :)
