Black Screen - Windows 10
Hi everyone,
I just finished upgrading to Windows 10, all the latest updates and drivers for my system. I have Sonar Platinum and all the components installed. My system runs fine without issue until I open Sonar Platinum. I load a project, start some editing or whatever I need to do then suddenly, the screen goes black and I can't see anything other than my mouse pointer. I have to press the power button to shut down and reboot.
Anyone else having any issues like this? Or any recommendations? Again, complete fresh install of everything and all the latest drivers, display, BIOS, etc...

Did you wipe the hard drive and install Win10 from scratch or was it an actual upgrade? This isn't a cakewalk issue anyway otherwise you would not need to reboot, this appears to be hardware/drivers or hardware configuration.... You may have already done this but.. Delete AUD.INI (google for details) Update your display drivers from manufacturers site. Update your audio interface drivers and firmware (what is it BTW?). Update your controllers drivers and firmware (e.g. Maschine). When was the last time you ran Native instruments service center? (which won't update your drivers and firmware BTW). Test to see if this happens on a new project with no template. If it works then you could be looking at dodgy plugins. You haven't got some incompatible antivirus running?

I would look first at the graphics drivers. With automatic updates you can sometimes get a new system without your knowledge. If you had a working system until recently, you might try to rollback the video driver.

Yup. It was a dice throw between putting this and AUD.INI top of my list... Definitely upgrade from manufactures website. Might be good to let us know what it is.

Sorry, life's been a bit bust as of late. Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I eventually bought a new hard drive, installed Windows 10, clean and then Sonar Platinum clean. All my drivers etc, and so far, seems to be working fine. Not sure if its coincidence but my hard drive failed about 2 weeks ago. Might have been the underlying culprit?
