Yeah, that was DLR on the mic...............can't categorize that as singing though. 
 
DLR is still the best performer/singer VH had (IMO) and I've seen them quite a few times in their prime........of course now, his voice is just shot.....still a funny guy though. 

I'll side with Sammy on this one. To tear apart the (former) member of VH that has been the most loyal over 30+ years and basically tell the world he couldn't play just shows how arrogant Eddie can be. The brothers are created equal... I have no respect for either one of them.
 

That was cool ... and brutal.  I've never "studied" these guys, but the BB article described EVH in that surprises me.

Silly question - is that DLR singing? I couldn't make it past Panama, shockingly bad. Maybe he couldn't hear himself, or the band..or something...

Is funny they cut that video... in the first 20s DLR has no bandaid on his nose, but as soon as Panama starts he does. I read somewhere he had smacked himself with the mic stand, but never seen footage of it happening.
 
As far as the OP, I continue to lose more respect for Eddie as time goes by. It is disheartening since he has done some friggin amazing work, but his attitude is beginning to make DLR's look tame.

I try and appreciate the music for what it is and not take the drama into account. As such, Van Halen has quite a bunch of terrific albums - almost everything up to Unlawful is top notch rock and roll.
 
In terms of singing, there's no doubt in my mind that Hagar is a much better singer - whereas Roth has an incredible tone and is a great performer - though at times, too much of a clown for my own taste.
 
As for personal drama, considering how EVH publicly dismissed Randy Rhoads and allegedly behaved like a complete arse when Rhoads tried to talk technique with him, his outrageous comments about Michael Anthony don't really impress me. He made a fool of himself, really.

Interesting, the Van Halens wouldn't let him play any VH tunes on Live from Daryl's House, but Led Zeppelin gave him the go-ahead to cover their stuff. There aren't many gentlemen in this business, are there?
