You might think that marching bass drums would be a really niche instrument, but they are actually quite useful in a number of scenarios. I've long pulled up the stock concert bass drum in the Kontakt factory library as a way to beef up low hits, and more recently have acquired Rumble from SampleLogic for that job. A marching-band bass drum isn't quite as deep as a symphonic bass drum, which makes it more suitable for non-orchestral roles.
