bx_bassdude 1.01 update

copied from email

We’re sending this message out to all bx_bassdude owners, to let you know that an updated version is now available on the website. This update, called v1.0.1, contains some minor bug fixes and improvements, but the main change is that we’ve added is 32 new Recording Chains. This means that there are now a total of 68 unique combinations of amp styles and speaker types! There are a number of new Recording Chains which feature bass cabinets that really expand bx_bassdude’s ability to deliver awesome bass tracks. We’re really excited about this, and we think you will be too.

We do want to let you know, however that for any DAW sessions you created with the current version (v1.0), the selected Recording Chain will not be recalled correctly when open the session after updating to v 1.0.1. All other parameters will be recalled correctly and you can simply re-select the Recording Chain used in the previous version to maintain session compatibility. If you have any sessions you’ve saved with bx_bassdude v1.0 for which you’re concerned about session compatibility, we recommend you note the Recording Chain used prior to updating to v1.0.1. If you have sessions where you used bx_bassdude v1.0 but did not change the Recording Chain setting, it will have been set to the default setting of “04 Silver 2x12” so when you open the session after updating, just select “04 Silver 2x12” from the Recording Chains menu and you’ll be good to go.

Thanks so much for purchasing bx_bassdude and enjoy the new Recording Chains!

So I gather you'd previously bought this, Greg? What do you think of it? At $129 it's the same price as S-Gear, which gives you a multiple amps plus effects.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I like it a lot. I liked the brainworx chandler and Friedman amps on UAD so I have this one a try. It does a good job on the baseman. If I had to pick this vs s gear is go with s gear, but so far I am happy with it. I like layering tracks with different amps products and this just adds to the too many options already available!

Somehow $129 for 1 amp and some pedals seems a bit high...
and the regular $349 price is plain insanity...

Bias FX Pro is $179 and gives you whole lot more...
S-Gear at $129 gives you whole lot more...
Amplitube 4 at $99 gives you whole lot more...

    YMMV

Sound aside, agreed it's not the best bang for the buck considering everything else.

I liked Bx's Engl sims too...but the prices are just "out there"
    even at "intro" prices...

Caution, I screwed up a bit with this update at first. I opened a project that had bassdude in it when I scanned. The VST scanner crashed in Splat and on restart, the plug was disabled. A reset and rescan fixed it in a blank project.
For sound, I still prefer Bassdude over all my other including S-Gear but they are very similar. Part of S-Gears magic, IMO, is their redwirez impulse section.
I'm not sure the other bx amps have it, I know bx_Rockrack doesn't. Bassdude also has a very similar impulse section. With the pedals, my view is it's currently a better bang for the buck than S-Gear.

Amplatube, GR5, and Pod Farm Plat has more but I love Bassdude for the exact same reasons I loved and still love S-Gear. Great presets and cabinets.
