Using Maschine controller in Sonar Steam edition

Hello all!!

I'd like to start by saying that I searched the site and found nothing on this topic. That being said, does anyone actually know how to get the Maschine controller (and perhaps even Maschine's library) in sync with the Steam Edition of Sonar?

I've been at it for a couple days and I'm pretty much at the end of my rope at this point. Any help or insight would be much appreciated as I would LOVE to even attempt to harness the power of this DAW powerhouse!

if you are using the most up-to-date version of Maschine (version 2.3.x), you are out of luck because Maschine currently DOES NOT work with Sonar (though NI claims to be working on a fix).  granted, i don't know anything about a Steam version of Sonar.  when NI does fix Maschine, if you want to use the device as a MIDI controller, you will need to have NI's Controller software, or, if you want to use it as a VST plugin so that you can employ the Maschine library, you would just need to make sure the plugin .dll file is in your plugin folder.  when Maschine isn't broken (like it is today), there's a lot of power to harness, for sure.

    Thanks for the news -_-

I hope they patch this thing soon, as far as the plugins I was able to do that much thanks to your help. I guess I'll just sit and wait... Or start a petition for a faster update lmao

i've been waiting since May (when NI broke Maschine's compatibility w/Sonar).  now all i can do is make stuff up in Maschine & then bounce everything down to individual tracks, and then load those up into Sonar
