Does Anyone Dock the Control Bar at the Bootm?
This seems logical since it's more like a physical console, but I have had it at the top for so long, that it looks weird at the bottom. Just curious.

I have seen screen captures with it placed at the bottom. It looks a bit odd to me too. I think it is truly a case of personal preference. There is no impact on Sonar's operation in either case.

I used it at the top to start with but with a neck fusion and the monitors sitting on top of four space rack gear boxes, putting it at the bottom made things very easy for me......

I have it floating and only have the Time module showing by default. When the Control Bar is fully open it uses too much real estate. I've found I tend to use one particular module at any time. Activating that module is worth the trade off to get the screen real estate back all the time.
In doing this it's important to use keyboard shortcuts so you don't need to use the Comtrol Bar too much.

You may already know this Mike but c will toggle it on and off. Also F11 will use all the screen for the TV.

Mine's at the bottom. In pre-X versions it used to be possible to spread the Control Bar over more than one single row. I had them split, one at the top and one at the bottom.

I've always had the Control Bar at the bottom of the screen. I like to have my monitor set at eye level so I'm not looking down too much. Seems more natural now to glance down a bit to the Control bar, than to move my eyes up to the top of the monitor. Certainly it's whatever suits your studio ergonomics, and whatever you've gotten accustomed to . . . I think every Sonar video, and screen shots I've seen have it at the top, so It seems the majority have it up there ?

I'm gonna try putting the Control Bar at the bottom. I think it might work better for me. HAdn't even thought of this before. Thanks for the idea, Konrad!

Yep, at the bottom here, too. I use to keep it hidden, anyway, it's so easy to press C when needed...

The only thing I use my control bar for is the global mute and solo buttons, the clock and the performance module. It otherwise seems like a waste of space for me personally. But maybe everyone should try docking it at the bottom, it might just work for them. Some time ago I shifted my Windows taskbar to the top of the screen after years of it being at the bottom, and I found it worked much better for me up there.

I guess today's plans are made. Win Task Bar to the top, Sonar Control Bar to the bottom. I hope this doesn't create a quake or twister somewhere ...

Control bar for Sonar has always been at the bottom, while the windows task bar is on the left.

I think I like Win TB at the top better. Never tried it before today. Can't deal with Sonar CB at the bottom. Both on top for me.

Contol Bar at the bottom. Windows taskbar is at the top. Inspector on the 2nd display floating and Browser floating next to inspector on the right side, on the top of RME Totalmix. This is THE correct setup. :)

Floating, placed on the bottom of the upper monitor; mainly used to show Now time in bars and beats, selection range and loop range. Track View on upper monitor on top (most of the upper monitor). Multiple PRVS (10-12) taking turns on the lower monitor. Less often used windows like tempo map, console, share the lower monitor. EL on a portrait mode monitor at right. Big time at the bottom of the right monitor showing now time in clock time (wish they would put the ability to show time in more than one way into the control bar!) Because there is so much space on three big monitors, I try to use keyboard shortcuts for everything. CW is not real helpful with this goal, unfortunately, there is still a lot of reaching for the mouse.
