Melodyne Issue
Good Day, If someone can help please, I'm not sure if due to recent update, or if I inadvertently changed some setting, but I did have this problem occasionally or randomly before, but not typically, and usually it works fine. When editing in Melodyne Region FX, usually when selecting a note (blob) the note sounds, currently it doesn't seem to be doing so, and don't believe I've changed any settings, since when it last worked, other than recent update to Jamaican plain. I'm using an RME UFX with Firewire connection.

Guess I found out myself global FX button in control panel has to be disabled apparently to hear note sound, so no effects can be enabled on any tracks apparently, not necessarily just the one your editing, not sure if that's intentional, or if this was always the case and I just didn't notice for some reason. However, Melodyne people are also looking into it a bit further. Cheers

It was not always the case (does not behave this way for me on Hopkinton) nor would I imagine that would be intentional. Please keep us posted.

I can confirm that I have exactly the same issue and that ByPass Global FX in the Mix Module of Control Bar fixes the issue. I was also very disappointed that when I used standalone Melodyne Editor on the audio file and then re-opened Platinum, it reported the audio file as corrupt and promptly replaced it with silence, as the message reported. Running Jamaica Build 40 x64.

That's annoying. But as a workaround, in Editor standalone, can you not export as a WAV file and then insert that into a new track in Sonar? Kind of a pain, and defeats the purpose of region effects, but if the region effects aren't working as designed here, could at least let you recover what you did in Melodyne...

Standalone Melodyne editor is already editing WAV files so there is no need to export as WAV. When you save the tuned audio (still a WAV file) it saves a backup WAV file of the original audio, so it can be retrieved anyway. The original issue is more complicated than just detouring by disabling global FX. It seems to be related to plugins being activated, to state what mighr be obvious, because plugins can still be activated manually when global fx are disabled. In other words it's not the button, it's something about a set of plugins being active.

I guess its good in someway to know I'm not experiencing total memory loss or incompetence, but not that your also having issues, or that things have to be worked around to somehow get expected results. Melodyne people weren't able to recreate problem albeit, if it matters, I believe the version they were working with may have been a more a more current build, based on the version number he gave me. (I assume maybe a beta test version of next update?). All that being said, somewhat mysteriously, as I cant say for sure what I may have done, the problem seems to have gone away for now, i.e., I don't need to disable global effects now to hear note??? Hope your issue also resolves itself, sometimes I think artificial intelligence is further along than we know and our computers are just playing head games with us, much like how do all my cables somehow get entangled with each other simply lying on the floor over night. LOL. Best of luck, Cheers

I had the same problem and discovered the same fix. I haven't done any Melodyne editing since, so nothing to report there. I hope this is not a big problem. Paul

JohnEgan When editing in Melodyne Region FX, usually when selecting a note (blob) the note sounds, currently it doesn't seem to be doing so.
Enable Input Echo. Remember - it's an effect, like an amp sim. If you want to hear the results of something going through an effect in real time, you need to enable input echo.

It's not what I usually think of as "real time". This is region fx, Melodyne Editor changing the tuning etc, and clicking on a blob to sound the note. Apart from that, I've never needed to enable input monitoring before, and that includes X3 and Platinum prior to Jamaica.
