iOS synth apps with real keyboard

Lately, I have been working with an iOS app called C3B3 (Hammond B3)It's on my iPad. I'm curious to know if anyone else is.....and how they go about recording these synths into their projects. The way I've been doing it is hooking my iPad into my keyboard via usb cable using the apple camera kit, then using an audio line out from the iPad into sonar. It seems to work fine. Since the Jamica Plains thing I've been noticing some static. So that makes me wonder if I'm properly connecting this setup, or is it the recent update causing my static issue? Any advice or suggestions?
