The Pugtones do the Monster Mash.

The famous Bobby Pickett Halloween tune.

We tried to take this classic in a slightly different direction - I think we did. We certainly had a good time recording this one - I hope it shows.

Warren Willingham - vocals and bass guitar
Bill Davies - did all of synthesized crazy sounds
Mark Cline - I did the arrangement - the guitars and mixed this one

Happy Halloween all - thanks for taking a listen.

ha, the bubbling at the beginning made me want a Lager.
LOL

i've always loved this song.....
but this is a fun version,
and i really dig that high synth line over the top of the first verse.....and over the chorus
guitar solo is so full of attitude....

and i love the swagger of the rhythm section..... it's super laid back,
but moving foward, like a frikin' frankenstein.
nice job!

Hey, Mark,

WOW!  Excellent work on this cool, stylized cover of the old Halloween classic!

It's always great to hear you, Warren and Bill again, and I think you guys have another Pugtones classic here.

Great vocals and harmonies, nice, driving bass and drums, cool sound effects/keys and I love the gritty guitar tone and playing.

Nice job, guys, it looks like we've got another annual Halloween tradition here on the forum!

Have a good one!
Bob

Just when you thought this song had been through all its variations ... this is a refreshing approach (must be the lager bubbling through it). Backing vocals have the right attitude too! Great work, fun mix.

I have to admit that the boiling threw me of briefly, then I realized it was likely a caldron.....I love the twist that you put on this one. Excellent mix!

So, I lost all my comments again.  Had a whole story.  No more back arrows!  I am slowing a down a bit and hope to be able to devote some time soon to listen to everyone's stuff.  I miss it but the cauldron you hear in the beginning (of this song) is my brain.  Hoping to lower the fire.

Rob- Thanks for listening and commenting.  I know you are busy and we appreciate it.  Say hi to Kat for me.  Hey, how was that coffee?  I'm trying to get that pic on Photobucket but I'm old and slow and forget everything.  Kinda LOL.
Daryl- Thanks, buddy!
Gus- I love your description.  Thanks!
Bob- Takin grandkids home tomorrow (trick or treating tonight, 5yr and 2yr) and plan to spend time listening to some great music.  I look forward to your acoustic. Thanks for the thoughtful comments!!
Jerry- I think Mark's brain is bubbling most of the time.  He sends the greatest music for me to work with but it seems to have the bubble factor so it's always fun. We appreciate your listen and comments!
Tim- Nice hearing from you.  How ya been?  Thanks for listening and commenting.  Mark has that mixing thing down.  Must be the bubbles!
Grant- Thanks for the comments!  Man, I think of you a lot because I have the Grant/Robby blues rocker"I Know a Little" on my mp3 and hear it at the gym all the time.  You guys let it all out on that one!  Later, buddy.
