No audio after importing MIDI from Songtrix
I found a closely related thread, but unfortunately it has not fixed my problem unless perhaps I missed something. In a fresh project I created a new Dimension Pro track and tested it by drawing a couple of notes in the Piano Roll view. Then I right-clicked inside the track and selected Import MIDI. This brought in a number of tracks, with the first being in the Dimension Pro track. From here on out no matter what I do a cannot hear any audio from Sonar. I deleted all MIDI track except one. I selected each MIDI track, opened the Event Viewer, and deleted everything except notes. I have reset the audio engine. Nevertheless, nothing works. I don't even hear anything through the virtual keyboard. What have I missed?

Sounds like you need to set the MIDI track’s Output field to the soft synth.

Once DPro encounters unsupported data the synth will make no sound until the project is closed and reopened. Cleaning the tracks in the event viewer is one way, also it is possible to make the synth ignore the data, here is how http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3198079

No, it was set up as a Simple Instrument Track. I have changed the input between Omni and None. None of these affect any change.

I have cleaned the tracks with the midi clips and restarted Sonar to no avail.

I have discovered a workaround, however: I can copy all of the notes from the Piano Roll view of an imported clip and paste them into an empty Piano Roll view and then everything works.

You could try setting the plug-in as shown in the other thread just in case (although if the file is really cleaned up it should not be necessary). Also, the notes in the file must be within the programs defined range.

This would suggest unexpected data still resident in the file because the PRV only shows note and CC data.

You mean setting the synth to ignore the data as mentioned above in this thread? If so, I tried that and forgot to mention that it did not work.

I completely agree. However, I used the Event Viewer to clean the tracks and the only rows left were marked as "Note". When I tried deleting any of those then the actual notes started disappearing from the clip.
