mixing audio with visual aid

within daws there are some type of visual aid to help with mixing, I know to use my ears but sometimes it is nice to see what the audio is doing. The eq spectrum graph is good but I do not use that eq often. I have seen studio one(not promoting it just using it as example) have a lot  tools to show what the audio is doing. I like the AN-879 but I think it needs an overhaul. Izotope has Visual Intelligence for your Mixing and Mastering. So my question is why can't sonar which a great daw. have a better visual representation to help with the mixing process.  This could easily be a another great update.

I like your thinking thornton. Although your ears are the final, and only, decision makers, I do like to be able to see waveforms, EQ curves, compression graphs, and any other aids to seeing what a plugin is doing to my audio.
For me, it always helps to be able to see what's happening, the computer is such a great device for visualisation that it should be used as such at every opportunity.

Visual tools can be invaluable as a compliment to your ears, for example to see exactly where a nasty frequency spike is happening, or to see what the subs are up to in the absence of decent monitoring, or to check phase with a phase analyzer.
