A-800Pro: assign Pads to different MIDI Channels

Hi everybody,
first time here...
It's been 2-3 years I'm using this controller with Mainstage 2 before and now version 3, discovered Control Maps and set the right one for me...BUT now I'd like to play an instruments on the keybed and different samples on the 8 Pads....how can I do this?Is it possible? I've read manual, tried various combinations with the A-PRO Editor and also in Mainstage but nothing yet...
