Take Lanes: poss. to copy all clips in a time range and paste them into another project?

Hi everyone, 
 
If this is possible I will save myself from having to redo around 5 hours work, or devise a pretty cumbersome workaround, so ... if you're in a be-kind-to-your-fellow-man kind of Saturday mood,  please help me out!
 
I'm comping 17 vocal takes, which I've sliced up into phrases for comping purposes. More accurate to say that now I'm still "semi-comping" -- I'm at the stage where I'm just deleting obviously unusable phrase takes, but otherwise keeping my options open with those remaining, by Melodyning here and there, nudging here and there, trying different combinations,  taking a fair amount of notes, rating candidates etc.  
 
So every phrase ends up taking a fair amount of work, especially because the singer did well, creating the "problem" of giving so many good but subtly different takes, that deciding on one ultimate winner for each phrase will be a bit painful. 
 
Anyway, I just finished this semi-comping stuff through the end of bar 51. When I zoomed out for the first time in a while, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that at measures 40 and 42, all take lanes are now empty except one, in which there is what  looks like single bounced clip of whatever was selected when it was created.
 
I'm not sure but have an idea that it was pilot error; I think I somehow inadvertently bounced or flattened, and then deleted the underlying.
 
 Anyway, I need to fix this. Because I save projects as new versions every 20 minutes or so, I was able to trace my footsteps back to the last *cwp version before this bounce / deletion screwup occurred. Let's call it "Safe.cwp".
 
The dimensions of the space for the phrases into which I've sliced the takes are identical in both Safe.cwp,  and in the latest file, "Latest.cwp", where I first noticed the problem.
 
I think that far and away the fastest way to fix things -- if it's possible -- is to somehow, in Safe.cwp, select all the take clips at measures 40-42, and paste them into the hole at 42-5 in Latest.cwp.
 
Is this possible? I have not managed this. To be honest I still find certain editing moves within take lanes to be a bit baffling.

Also, I recommend you to lock the position (not data) of all clips in the lanes before you start editing. This prevents you from accidentally bouncing clips, yet allows you to edit the clips (incl. adjustment of split points). 

I decided to learn how to use them recently and was puzzled with their strange behavior.
 
I dragged a sound clip and attempted to make several versions in take lanes and then to learn some comping. I forget what all inexplicable behavior I encountered, but I gave up.
