Edward Bear
I would have never guessed the band name from hearing the song(The Last Song), and I don't think I've heard it since it was a hit but it was a catchy tune, just sad lyrics...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK-6v6oqeEA Aah, the memories, or is that mamm....... nevermind I got confused.

I think the name suits the song quite well, it was almost exactly what I was expecting to hear. I had never heard the song before, and after about 5 or 10 seconds I was quite happy to have it remain that way :) Does nothing for me except make me want to make it stop or rip my ears off.

You know, I actually met a guy down in Huntington Beach, California who changed his name to Richard Cranium. Short guy, albino I believe, who loved to wear leather jackets. Late 80's I'm guessing.

1972/73, you had to be there.... And IMO, it was a throwback to the old Dead Mans' Curve, Last Kiss, Tell Laura I Love Her, and Laurie(Strange Things Happen In This World) memes from the late 50s and early 60s.....

Yes, but unfortunately not far enough back to enable it to not raise it's ugly head again :) "Tell Laura I Love Her" lol . . . Please, stop, I am having flashbacks, how about Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Kinks, The Who, Black Sabbath, even The Stones. Next you'll be telling me The Beach Boys were good, btw, they are in town sometime between now and Christmas, I'm ensuring I am out of town that week to protect my ears from defilement

So, let me get this straight. You guys are above the old AM hits we grew up with? You feel the need to rise above and are way better than the masses who actually didn't mind growing up to the stuff. By 74-75 we wouldn't buy anything that hit AM radio. That didn't make AM radio bad, it made us snobs... I haven't had AM radio on since then except for sports and traffic........It isn't my cup of tea, but once in a while it brings back some pleasant memories. So shoot me.

I didn't like that stuff back then, basically hated what they played on the radio most of the time. I grew up with Led Zeppelin, Zappa, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Kinks, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Rush, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Motorhead and on and on it goes and changes through the years. Never liked what the mainstream seem to like, never liked what was generally played on mainstream radio. It doesn't make you a snob, you just like what you like.

I don't mind Edward Bear at all... actually quite like them and the memories they provoke. I always found them to be the Canadian version of America. Especially songs like "Masquerade" and "Me, You and Mexico".
Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take! I remember these guys too. TBH it does not bring back any memories for me but I wouldn't shoot anybody for liking their memories brought on by the song.

Well, I wouldn't blame the song for not being able to bring back any memories Ed. (Just sayin'... )

Edward Bears was the first 33LP I ever bought when I was a mid teen. About 4 years ago I bought a CD of their hits. I always liked how the drummer was the singer and remember he had really long hair. Larry Evoy I think his name is. I used to wonder if his hair got in the way. He always made me think of Levon Helm and Karen Carpenter.
