Melodyne Issue

I am working on a project with all audio tracks.  I have a bass track that melodyne will not work on the track.  I can select a section on the track or select the whole track and then go to the region effects tab.  When I select melodyne, the option is not highlighted to enable me to choose the option. I don't know why, but It works on all my other tracks.  Is there something I have done?  I even copied the audio to a new track with the same problem..  The audio is a bass guitar track that was recorded direct.

Has anyone ever had this happen?

Try.bouncing the track to itself, and then add Melodyne. Maybe it got turned into a groove clip somehow or is doing something with audio snap.
