Hi Pragi:

I may have misunderstood your question. If you're looking for video clips for personal videos read on.

I've been on videoblocks.com for two years or so. Yes, they do have a lot of bad reviews and I was reluctant to join.

But since most of the places selling video clips are $80 (and up) for a 10 second clip, I joined anyway.

The first year I really got my money's worth. I downloaded some nice 4K content that would have cost a fortune anyplace else. For $100 yearly it was a bargain.

They seem to have a new policy now. For the same yearly price there's still unlimited downloads but it's limited to certain clips. The clips I really want at this point cost extra.  So the deal is not as good as it used to be.

For a decent selection of HD quality video clips at a reasonable cost I haven't found a better place.

Hi Tom,
thank you for the answer. Good you
share your experience with  videoblocks.com.
You wrote that the unlimited video content is limited
to certain videos.
I have some questions about, hope that it´s OK to ask so directly :
1.Do you think that this vids in a yearly fee included content is worth?
2 How much they want for a "special "(not in the yearly fee included) videos.
3.Have you had any royalty problems with videoblocks ?
regards

Hi Steve,
thank you for your answer.
If I understood right it is possible to download vids via the real player,
but this is not what I´m looking for.
I´m looking for royalty free video content.
Or is the vid content downloaded via real player royalty free ?

regards
Pragi

It's only royalty free if it specifically says so Pragi.

Tom's got you sorted by the sound of it, I think I misread your question!

Yeah, I thought you might be referring to videoblocks.com.

The video clips I downloaded were for a large corporation and their lawyers were very concerned about copyright issues. The lawyers gave the go-ahead to use the clips.

As far as I remember, as long as you give credit to videoblocks at the end of the video you can use their clips royalty free; now and in the future even if you stop being a subscriber; and no matter if your video turns a profit.
What they won't tolerate is the reselling of these individual clips.

You don't have to join to see if they have content you are interested in. Go to their site and do a search. The search will produce video clips. The video clips with a dollar sign at the top will cost you extra. The clips without the dollar sign will be included in the yearly fee.

I realize you're probably looking for a wide, more extensive selection of clips but there are some really nice free HD clips to download here http://www.beachfrontbroll.com/

I´m starting to make some vids for my songs,
using Sony Movie Studio Plat. 12.
Til now its really fun
to work with this software. Anyhow the workflow "feels"
really intuitiv and comparable to Splat- but in video editing.

Somebody here in the forum once recommends the Music Studio .
Don´t remember who, but it´s really easy.
