Hey, don't worry about feeling alone because of using vocaliods or are creating songs in any given genre.  I'm personally not a fan of the style of music you call k-pop nor the use of vocaloids in music. BUT.... that's my personal opinion and matters not, when I listen to your music. Just a few weeks ago, I don't recall if it was here or in another forum, somebody posted a song using vocaloids and let me just say, the fit of the vocaloid to the genre of the music and how it was mixed into the song was freaking amazing. Absolute best and most perfect use of a vocaloid I had ever heard. A human singer could not have done a better job.

We don't care what you do or why you do it. Here, the focus is on music in general and how best to record it so it sounds professional. I don't think I've ever seen anyone put down due to the genre or style of the music they record and present. We have folks who like and record everything from classical orchestral music, rock, country, pop,  to very off the wall indy stuff and everything in between. You simply fall into another interesting niche of this big thing called music.

And to answer your question..... yeah, there's a few folks here who do have and use the vocaloid plugins.

So don't feel alone or be shy about putting the music you create up into the songs forum for people to listen. You will find that people who don't like or listen to your chosen genre of music will often listen and comment regardless of their personal tastes in music.  They can, and often, will offer recording and production commentary that you can use to make your recordings sound better and improve your skills.

Well said Herb and this is exactly what the Song forums is about.....learning to improve our mixing/production techniques while getting advice from some very experienced musicians/engineers/songwriters/producers etc....

So, welcome to the forums Kamodulation!!

I haven't used vocaloids in a song yet, but I do like working on different genre's.....so, who knows...
However, I've been asked to use Altoids frequently......

Your post is an educational experience for me. My initial reaction is "What is kpop and jpop?" (Hey, I am out of touch with the pop scene.). So I had to check the internet. Wiki says 'kpop' is South Korean Pop and 'jpop' is Japanese Pop? I did find this YouTube link:

Musically not my cup of tea although visually I can't complain. +1 on what Guitarhacker says. Welcome and give it a try.

Hey K-mod,
I feel your distress.

Although I don’t know you personally, I feel like I know you spiritually.

Because I am closer to the end than the beginning, and you seem rather fresh, I must share with you what I know, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Imagine others, I have felt alone too.

If your intentions are true, then most likely you have come to the right place. I can honestly say that you and I are as different as the sun and the moon.

I believe that you have a voice, and a story.  However, you are speaking a unique voice.

So, I have an offer.  Because obviously you have a song to share, and because you have obviously revealed yourself in a diametric world (sonar forum.) How about you and I collaborate?

Do you want to bridge hemispheres?

I want to hear some of your songs, and then I want you to send me some of your files, and I want to create an amalgam between East and West.

Let yourself go K-Mod

I won’t suffer fools, so I will expect you to take “four extra steps.”

If you are amenable to my proposal, PM me.

I promise nothing.

Welcome Ima, I also heard that link your sister posted of your material and also thought it displayed great talent in both performing and mixing. I'm not real familiar with " kpop jpop or vocaloid coverists" The link she posted of the song she mixed sounded better than the mixes she want to sound like to my old ears.
Apologize to your sis for me if I seemed short with her. I just bumped the thread to get more info and the right eyes reading the thread. She's in good hands there now and getting good answers from the right folks.
I mostly deal with old school four piece band, live capture stuff, so I don't have much knowledge to offer in your mostly electronic genre. The only thing I have to offer is an apology, a welcome and an offer for an old school old man guitar solo if you ever need it.

Confusion and denial (I'm a borderline case you see).
