Happy wife! Her work made the cover of the Christmas issue of Country Living Magazine...

They asked for a loan of a few stockings for the shoot but she never imagined they would be on the cover, lol. She is a real blessing to me. She is successful at everything she does! The second and fourth are hers and there is another on page 3 of the "Country Christmas Guide" of the !! She is so excited. This, to her, is like me being on the cover of GuitarPlayer (I'll never be there, lol). Her stockings are one of a kind, from original old fabrics. She buys, cleans, and makes... and this is her HOBBY!!
I'm so proud of her!
I think she will be making more stockings today!

ALSO... see below please. Good news/bad news.

Please keep her dad in your prayers and thoughts. His name is Houston. He had a heart attack. He is a two time cancer survivor. We spent the last week down at their house helping. They moved him from the ICU yesterday to a sort of in between room, not ICU but not regular floor. He isn't eating much. He has a lot of damage from cancer treatments. One lung doesn't work and part of his heart isn't working but just enough is working. He turned 82 last Tuesday. She just got a picture, they got him up in a chair this morning. Life is good even with it's troubles.

    Thanks!
They got him eating. The doctor put him on a salt free diet and he likes salt. So he wasn't eating. Cindy's mom brought a salt shaker and salted his food after they brought it. He ate almost all his eggs, drank two OJs, and some other stuff. I think they should tell the Dr though. He had excessive fluid in the sac around his heart and the salt may keep it from draining off. It was putting pressure on his heart. I'll suggest a salt substitute, he wouldn't know and maybe that will work... but at least he is eating now.

    Thanks again!

Congrats to your wife! You might want to subscribe to the magazine. I'm just sayin'...

Her father (and the rest of the Bows) will be in my prayers. Tell them that we're thinking of them. (When they ask who you're talking about, just make something up. It's probably best if they don't know too much about us.)

Thanks all. I appreciate it. Her dad is slowly getting better I think. He just isn't ever going to be the man he used to be because o what the cancer and the cancer treatments did to him and the heart partially 'dead'... but he keeps on. We tell him his duty now is to sit in his chair and just 'be there' for everyone. That is hard for him because he was always a hunter and a gardener, many other things when he was younger.
@Bubba, yes she subscribed. They did what other magazines do and sent like 4 issues in about 10 days. I got my December issue of GP mag in October, the 'Holiday' issue two weeks ago. So if I were a new subscriber they would likely send the October, November, December and Holiday issue. Then send me renewal offers in six months. I don't understand why most magazines send out issues like two months in advance, unless it is some sort of way to get more money for less. I get one magazine that does not do that. 'Table Talk' magazine. I re-subscribed in October after about a year off, a couple of weeks ago I received the December issue, it is a daily devotional with other writings.

Cindy is busy making sure there are more things in her shop... and this is her hobby. Some of you know, she is a CPA in private practice. She is amazing.
Everything she touches prospers. It works for me... she never complains about what I do or don't do or about anything I buy so I try to not take advantage.
I do the laundry, do the shopping, most of the cooking... it works well. She is 8 years younger than me... been married 38 years in April.

    Again.. THANKS!
