Hackentosh or VEP+mac mini? The new Alchemy2 is amazing but only for Logic Pro x

I'm curious, as Logic Pro X is only $200 and Alchemy2 comes with it.  I just reviewed all the youtubes and it is, well... OMG is the word... as a sample machine/mapper it is truly amazing and, well it's got me considering this.

In particular, a machine to run both SPlat and Logic or a new machine...  My current PC is fairly robust; apparently might have to change MB and a few things but... Then again, VEP Pro has been on my mind as several here say it's superior when running large Orchestral templates so I could always just custom build an inexpensive PC just to run Alchemy 2...

After watching the Alchemy2 vids...this prospect has got me excited... just to be able to run Alchemy2 as a vocalizing sound design tool.

doesn't this go into the realms of hardware synths, if you're building hardware just to run a software synth? v2 can't be much different than v1.5 surely? (fwiw)

    just a sec

Well, after reflecting on it all night, I may end up just getting a mac mini which is relatively inexpensive and running it in tandem, under Vienna Ensemble Pro with my PC.  It seems to be the opinion of many that VEP would benefit my desire to run larger templates anyway... and be the smartest/easiest way to go. It appears a mini would handle logic and alchemy2...

As to Alchemy2, it appears to be pretty amazing after watching all the vids last night.  Both it and Falcon are a big step forward in importing and mapping samples among other things... and right up my alley for creative tools to move more into vocal sampling.

I've been on the fence for a while now, adding a Mac Mini and using VEPro to host things uniquely Macintosh makes a lot of sense. I'd also gain access to "M", and of course Alchemy...

It's not a terribly expensive solution, but it adds a layer of complexity, so I haven't pulled the trigger just yet. I probably will, makes more sense, in terms of flexibility, than adding another windows box.

I've an old but hardly used G5 Mac from about 2005 - 2006 - absolute museum quality! I am not anywhere near it at the moment so I can't remember the actual full spec. Also I have never updated the OS. All I can remember is that for its day it was a pretty powerful Computer
You Mac guys out there, do you think in principle this would be worth upgrading the OS (if that is even possible due to the processor change) to an OS that could then  run logic / alchemy? I already have a network set up using Vienna pro.
    Any general advice much appreciated
