Virtual Controller Input Removal?

So one day while working on a song, I accidentally unplugged my MIDI keyboard, and Sonar asked me if I wanted to save the input settings of the device rather than delete them.  I selected to keep them.  However, now on every single project, there is an input device called "Virtual Controller" which corresponds to Sonar's on-screen virtual keyboard.  It wasn't there prior to me accidentally unplugging my keyboard, and for the life of me i cannot figure out how to remove it from the input list.  It does not show up in the MIDI devices under Sonar preferences.  Anyone know how to remove it?

I'm running Sonar Platinum Hopkinton.

I am not sure that can be removed, as I believe it is a core feature. I cannot recall which update it was released in offhand, but the intent was for a quick input option on-the-fly (it is not hardware, so will not show in your devices). I am thinking you unplugging your controller was coincidence with you noticing this.

As far as your project goes, when you reopen them with the controller plugged in, they map correctly to their saved state, correct?

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Yup, correct.  When I reopen with the controller plugged in, they map correctly.  The weird thing is that the Virtual Controller was not listed prior to my accidental removal of my device.

You probably just never noticed it before OR you updated Sonar recently to a version that includes the VC.

It ain't hurtin' nothin'. It's just there as an input device if you need it. It of course won't show up in your MIDI Devices Preferences because it's inside the program and doesn't need to be connected/mapped/enabled.

    Cheers.
