OVERDRIVING problem

I was wrapping up a project with some automation writing on a single track, and on next playback multiple tracks (I think all of them but not sure) are audibly overdriving - way too loud, and saturating on several tracks.  But the meters don't show any tracks as pegging.  It's almost sounds like there's duplicates of tracks playing simultaneously.  I've gone through all my settings and cannot figure out what I did.  I pulled up my backup from before doing all my final automation (after several hours of work0, and that seems fine - so I don't think it's any Preference settings in Sonar that would affect other projects, seems to be isolated to this project.

I'm at a loss - any suggestions?

Hi. Do you have any ProChannel effects in your projects? Could it be that they are driven to hard, causing distortion (I know I have)? If so, you could (if tracks is not recorded to hot), bring the gain level (knob) down in either Track View or Console View (on top)
    Sorry if this is obvious.
    All the best.

So I figured out WHAT the problem is, just not how it occurred, nor if there's any easy way to correct it.  Every track that has a PC76 U-type compressor in the ProChannel (save 2 channels) have the output cranked up nearly all the way, and all at the exact same level.  (2 tracks don't have it set to the same super high output.)

Any idea how I might have done this while recording single track automation of Volume?

I believe I'm now stuck with going back through all those tracks manually and resetting output of the compressor, unless anyone has any ideas.  (I've already saved the project, so no undo steps / history to go back to.)
