Oh yeah... the French got TOTALLY mucked over in Canada after the war and some of the idiotic crap some of my "anglo" brethrin spew about the French is so completely unnecessary and offensive.
 
So I kind of get the general malaise in Quebec toward the rest of Canada because... well we can be dicks. It's just the over the top sovereigntist crew whipping up those emotions purely for politcal (and profit) reasons that make it... well ridiculous in La Belle Province.
 
Fortunately most of that crap is dying away with the younger generations (on both sides) despite the desparate efforts of some seriously hateful and twisted individuals.
 
And yeah... QC would be screwed without Canada but IMO Canada would be quite screwed without QC as well. Such a ridiculously self defeating situation.
 
But there's one true Canadian trait that doesn't get as much publicity as poutine, hockey, moose and crackhead mayors. Self defeat. It's like a damned national pastime... and it ticks me right the hell off... and why a lot of people end up leaving.
