Eagles of Death Metal Detail Horrific Paris Attack, Offer Support
Eagles of Death Metal have opened up for the first time about the horror they endured when ISIS attackers opened fire on their concert in Paris two weeks ago, killing nearly 100 people. Homme and Hughes also talked about Nick Alexander, the Eagles of Death Metal's merchandise manager who was killed in the attack. "I think about Nick who protected a friend of his," Homme said, while Hughes added, "And stayed quiet and never called for help until he bled out because he didn't want anybody else to get hurt." "Several people – because there was mass confusion and the hallways became a labyrinth – several people hid in our dressing room, and the killers were able to get in and kill everyone of them, except for a kid who was hiding under my leather jacket," Hughes said. "People were playing dead. They were so scared. A great reason why so many were killed was because so many people wouldn't leave their friends. And so many people put themselves in front of people." Hughes said the band will eventually finish the tour and is looking forward to returning to Paris. "I cannot wait to get back to Paris. I want to play," said the singer. "I want to be the first band to play in the Bataclan when it opens back up. Our friends went there to see rock and roll and died. I've pretty much seen it all on the internet....but I couldn't take the audio recording that's going around of the Bataclan shooting. Some guy had his phone in his pocket recording the band and you hear the first two or three minutes of the shooting - all the shots, the screaming, the utter terror in people's voices. I made the mistake of listening to it on headphones and it was like being in the crowd. Just reinforced my view that these sub-human terrorists are a plague of roaches that need to be eradicated in their entirety.

A friend of mine's girlfriend had her sister killed at the concert, and the funeral was today. Her girlfriend is in hospital with a bullet in her neck right now which they cannot remove. Pretty sickening, there are all home grown attacks (they just got trained in Syria). None of this is to do with religion whatsoever, these are just people manipulating and warping concepts for their own advantage. They even kill their own. The only way to stop their ideals is to come up with a better idea, and better education imho. More violence just breeds more violence.

Holy crap, that was a powerful interview. I've no idea who those guys are, but I could sure relate to what it would be like to be onstage and everything's going to plan and then everything goes to sh*t. The FOH guy came closest to death, looking the killer in the eye. The board took the bullet intended for him.
