Has anyone tried UVI World Traditions library?

I bought UVI World Traditions for a great price via one of the postings in the Deals forum ($29 for a $99 library), but I'm pretty disappointed with the quality of the sounds. Poorly programmed instruments with no sustain, or terrible looping/crossfading; and the Acid and Rex loops sound awful - all jittery and stuttery, and really poor time stretching, etc.

I'm wondering if I'm just not using it right, or need to re-download the files or something. I'd be a bit surprised if this is how the library actually sounds. I have the UVI Plugsound Pro banks, and they're adequate: basic, entry-level sounds, but with some useable instruments among them. But the World Traditions library really sounds pretty bad from top to bottom. Anyone else have the same experience?

For what its worth, I'm using the latest build of the UVI player, freshly installed.

Bought it for $29. Unfortunately, I pretty much agree with your assessment, although there are a few things there that I'll probably use.

Did you try the Celtic Flutes sustain? The looping on the sustains is so bad its almost comical, especially on the lower notes. I am really surprised at how poorly done it is - by the same company that released Falcon, which by all accounts is pretty impressive. Weird....

I'm also curious why there is a Saxophone in the Balkan ethnic instruments.

I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.  The flute player might have asthma.

Seriously, though, thanks for this.  I was about to buy, but now I think not.  Still looking for a good collection of World instruments.  Might take a gander at the Zero-G offerings....

I wrote to Customer Support at UVI, because I have to at least confirm that I'm not dealing with a broken library, or something. Some of the sounds are that bad.

At least, the Balkan saxophone sounds alright...

Update: FWIW, I got a follow-up reply from UVI customer support. They acknowledged the Celtic flute is unusable, thanked me for pointing that out, and have sent the matter to their developers to fix. That's more than I expected, to be honest....
