What is the difference between Kingston, Everett, Cambridge and Jamaica ect....

I just updated from X3 Producer to Platinum during the Gobble sale and I am wondering what version do I have?
Do I have the new Kingston update?  I downloaded on Thanksgiving day.  All these different names are confusing.  Are they just names of updates for Platinum?  I just want to know..

Thanks

Yes and the Command Center always installs the most recent version.

Yes, they are roughly monthly releases of fixes and new features. Check Help > About for the current version. Should be 21.10.00 build 30 Kingston. IIRC, even new installations can be rolled back to previous releases, but you wouldn't want to do that unless you're encountering a showstopper (for you) problem that's known to be specific to the current release.

Yup. Just names of the rolling monthly updates. To see what version you are currently on go to the Sonar "Help menu > About" and the current version will be on the splashscreen that pops up. This only started happening in the past few months so if you don't see a version name you are on an older update.

The differences in each version can be found in the monthly eZines on the site (I'll go dig it up if someone doesn't beat me to it).

However the latest version will be the most up to date and have everything shoen in the eZines EXCEPT maybe some of the exclusively monthly extra content for subscribers. If you were not subscribed when the update came out then you won't have those few one off things but they won't affect the core program. Mostly FX Chains and samples/loops.

To see the version history and get access to ALL the eZines go to this link...

    http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Rolling-Updates#start

Then scroll down a bit to where it says "Sonar Update History". Click on the version tabs and it'll show some details on each version AND provide a download link for that version's eZine which goes into in depth detail of what came with that version. I download all the eZines and keep them with my manuals because they have instructions/details on using new features.

    Cheers.
