Kingston, ...is it safe?

Have  most of you had good luck with this update? I am anxious because of the number of issues that seemed to manifest themselves like the rapture, zeta noises missing or wrong patches and general misbehavior.I have Rapture( not pro) Dimension and Zeta+2 all of which I use in standalone mode as well as VSTi. Normally I just dive in, but this one has me a little worried. A little reassurance that all is well .

I don't have z3ta 2 but I do use the other stuff plus izotope ozone 7 with no issue on Kingston. I think there's a thread on z3ta 2 that discusses some kind of issue. Good luck!

The problem is with Z3ta+ 2.2 update, not Kingston. But it seems that Kingston doesn't work with Sylenth1 and some other plug-ins. Z3ta+ 2.1 works fine in Kingston.

As with all software updates, there are going to be some problems with some systems. I don't see any posts that show a repeatable problem with every system, but there will always be a chance that an update will show an issue with your particular system.
The great thing is, you can always roll back to Jamaica Plain if Kingston causes problems. It seems as if the roll back system does work as planned, and most everybody that has had an issue with an update has been able to roll back to a workable system until they can solve their particular update issue.

Very stable and trouble free here.  If you have any issues, report them and roll back...
With the CCC, Cakewalk couldn't have made it any easier...

I haven't tried Sylenth yet but before I got to that, the first recent project I was working on had my new SubDestroyer 1., vst not working...vst 3 ie, vst 2 just had distortion going on...so again I'm back to Ipswich.

Kingston and Ivory II do not play well together. See this thread for details. As such, I've rolled back to Jamaica Plain.

Kingston, Surrey, is safe.

Kingston, Jamaica, less so.

I cannot comment on Kingston, Mass.

Sorry..

Sonar Kingston is flying here, with no major issues yet.

This. I just download any updates, and get back to work. If I encounter a problem related to a new feature, I can just ignore the new feature, enjoy the other benefits, and wait for a hotfix or the next release. After all if I've survived all these years without a particular feature, I can live without it for another couple of weeks

There can always be specific issues that are really important to specific users, but I've yet to need to roll back. The main issues with updates seem to relate to particular plug-ins. I use mostly Cakewalk's plug-ins and ones from established companies like Waves, iZotope, Native Instruments, Steinberg, Arturia, etc. Nothing against third-party plug-ins, I just don't need most of them. I have yet to encounter a situation where a plug-in didn't work in an update except for early VST3 plug-ins from Arturia. I just used the VST2 versions until the VST3 ones worked. Not sure if the fixes were at Arturia's or Cakewalk's end, but I don't care as long as things work.

I agree with CA, has worked fine for me with the exception of SoundCenter.  I never use that anyway and the RP Session takes its place anyway.  Rollback is always an option.  I will say that I have yet to see what I would call an amazing workflow speedup but I think that is more due to the things it says it optimized were never issues for me anyway as I have a pretty fast processor.  I have noticed undos are quicker.

Thanks all. I'm glad you got the Marathon Man inference! I don't have Sylenth or Ivory, so I think I'll just  hold off on updating zeta and do the rest. Thanks for the input

I loaded this version on a new computer. It would seem unlikely that I can get an older version unless the installer pulls files from the cakewalk mother ship. From all indications the problems are related to  vst programming and this seems to affect some soft synths. The interface should be similar for all vst's with some common differences for VST 3. I can't say you won't have an issue with your vst.
I haven't tried my Rapture or Zeta 2 yet but they all loaded and scanned ok. The ones I have tried with no problems so far are:
Komplete 10 Ultimate- loaded and plays flawlessly
Korg Legacy collection is fine
No problems with AD2 or  BFD2 and eco .  XLN Pianos organs...no problems
I have three or so large sample libraries in Kontakt format and they all read and play ok.Anything from soundiron, best service, embertone, big fish audio is fine so far on my rig.
Anything playing from Kontakt seems to work fine here.
Ozone 7 advanced...no problems.

Arming and recording audio into tracks, automation and mixing are all flawless.PC is fine.
I'm almost afraid to try zeta 2 and Rapture after what I've heard...but I haven't ran into any problems with any of the above.
