Kits were easy, still have to chose my last Midi pack and Kitpieces though. It is nice you can wait until you have a need and then get what you want down the road.

Wanted to add my thanks as well to Cakewalk and XLN for coming through on this !!! Been a long time user since 2006 of Sonar and have Addictive Keys as well. Will definitely be picking up more stuff in the future from both!

Between the emails from CW and their solution with xln, I am feeling even better than ever about sticking with Cakewalk/SPLAT and xln. Both seem like great companies and the best choice for me. I had no trouble picking out the ADPaks and KitPieces. I got hung up on the MidiPaks. I listened to all my "likely's" last night, again, and will see how I feel today, when I sort through them. Picked out my stuff....had to audition for a while....I have LOTS of drum software (it's like a fetish)...and I do have to say that Addictive Drums 2 is in my top 2....and may even be numero uno. I always questioned the necessity of the add on packs for any of the software titles I have....but, having a number of the ADpacks now, I can say they really do give a different flavor to a mix. For this purchase, I chose Fairfax Vol 1, Funk (which I like a LOT more than I thought I would) and Metal....and each definitely sounds unique.....the presets are decent and the amount of control is great as far as I'm concerned. I've been playing around with AD2 a lot over the last few months, and definitely enjoy it. I'm glad that cakewalk made the gesture of honoring the deal they (mistakenly) listed. I've used them since the DOS days in college...I think my first experience with them was 1988 or 1989 when doing a cover of "In My Life" by the Beatles with my best friend who had purchased a copy of the program. And it's been the only DAW I've stayed with consistently since. And will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. So...thanks to both XLN and Cakewalk..both top notch in my opinion....Planning on sticking with both and purchasing more of each.

well i already had fairfax1, reel machines, black velvet and united pop. It was hard to choose another 3 but i got Indie, Session Percussion and Studio pop. Funk and jazz brushes were very close. btw I think the indie adpak should be renamed "The Hipster Adpak", rare kit recorded on tape using rare mics.

Sorry Zo, I am not sure what you mean. I got this deal for the AD2 Custom and picked 3 ADPaks (United Pop, MJ Sticks and Black Velvet) and 3 Kit Pieces. The others I already owned, as in "got with" or bought on sale. I have to select my MidiPaks, but am free today to listen to them all again. I've been getting Beats vs Songs and will try a "Songs" out this time, to see what the difference is. I was hoping someone would chime in and offer some info on that. Michael

Oh i thought you bought several packs ...this is what i wanted to do in fact , i would have bought 3 !!!but when they stated it was a mistake i hold it down .... For the songs versus beat , well not sure but i think the main diffrence is that on songs you have all parts and a faull part witch proposes a structure using all the sperated parts (introo , verse, 1 hook , bridge ect )... I really prefer the layout in ezx for that , specially with the tap to find stuff ....that said the core livrary in xln is real homogenus and covers a lot of stuff ...i just find the inteface not enjoyable in this process in xln ...

I have no experience with EZ, just Session Drummer3, Groove Agent2 and BFD2, and my AD2. Over the past 15 years, I bought a bunch of Acid type loops, Pro Drum Works 1, and some M-Audio Discrete Drums and those were done/listed (mostly?) in song structure. So, I've done a bunch of tracks from that "approach". It's how I think, too, having gigged as drummer some(predominantly on guitar). What I wonder is if there is as much variation in those sections as in the "beats" packs. I'll find out soon! LOL. Michael

Sooo, if I got AD2 and upgraded, got the free, midi, free kits, and free pieces... there is nothing new with this Gobble renewal. That seemed to be odd. I disundrestood, still do. J

Do not confuse the pricing error on the XLN custom package which is the subject of this thread with early purchase of a "renewal" of your SONAR membership during the same period. For info about the "renewal" see http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3329068
