Anyone Running Adobe Suite on Their DAW??
High, just curious if any of you guys are running Adobe Creative Suite on your DAW. Just curious if it affects your DAW performance at all, just having it installed. I know it's a bit of a resource hog in many ways. I have it on my laptop, and if I'm not mistaken the license allows you to install on two computers as long as you aren't using them both at the same time. I use Photoshop and Illustrator for some web graphics editing, and I like having it portable, but would really like to do some editing on the larger monitor now and then, so putting at least some of those apps on my DAW would be nice. Thanks

In have a multi boot setup with multiple OS's on one PC. One of them is dedicated to DAW and related software. By keeping OS partitions dedicated to a particular purpose/workflow I get very few system specific issues (like dropouts etc). Anyway I personally would not run any Adobe software near my DAW.

I have the old Adobe Audition 3 running from within Sonar as a utility. Works great.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like a few of you are doing it no problem, but I still kind of lean toward the camp of the good Doktor... this new version seems to like to "phone home" every now and then, and I don't know if that could cause issues.

I have the Creative Cloud Suite installed on my DAW and have had no issues whatsoever. I get the popup notifications every now and then for updates etc but they don't seem to cause any problems when I'm working in Sonar.

Thanks guys, that's two strong endorsement for the same version I have. Since Jim built my DAW I'll take those endorsements highly. Looks like I'll go ahead and at least install the stuff I really find myself using often.

Well if you do that don't forget to disable all the crap they will provide on windows startup (updates etc). And there are probably going to be a few adobe services kicking around (you may want to disable). Check windows scheduled tasks as well. I haven't got the latest adobe suite but the last one I had decided to alter data in the master boot record for copy protection purposes. Detected when I tried to install the Linux grub bootloader.

Yes, make sure to disable these things. No need to have them constantly running in the background...

I've always had the full Adobe suite (CS and now CC) on the same PC as Sonar. No issues.

Yes, so far so good. Disabled some of the extra stuff from startup and SONAR is just as solid as ever.

If you mean Adobe Creative Cloud, yes--I have a subscription and use it on my DAW and a laptop. It's aggravating because it has to check in for updates and licensing constantly even when I'm not running those applications, and it hogs enough CPU to bog down the SONAR audio engine. I'm sure there is a better way to shut it off when doing music, but for now I just disconnect my internet connection when using SONAR.

You can shut-down the Adobe CC (so it's not pinging home for updates).
