does the Beatscape .dll file exist in your Plugins folder? if not, you will have to reinstall an older version of Sonar in order to get Beatscape to reinstall, because it does not come with Platinum (or X3, if i remember correctly)

Try disabling the "64bit Double Precision Engine" in Preference > Audio > Driver Settings. This is an issue for some other synths ATM. This should be corrected in the next update.

thanks scook disabling the 64bit flag worked I think I'd altered most of the settings in preferences apart from that one it also worked for izotopes idrum which was exhibiting the same problem thanks again Gordon

I forgot all about Beatscape. I just installed it from Sonar 8. I forgot how cool it is. Thanks for reminding me about it.

It is no longer recognized in Sonar Platinum on plugin scans. Same with recent 32 bit Reaper, Cantabile. I added it to the plugin scan list to get it to work.

Big time! I would have to open 16 versions of OctoRex in Reason. My Beatscape library is quite huge. Now all I need to do is create something with it. I hope the developers revisit Beatscape in the future. Interesting that Cyclone has been in Sonar for a long time and this is also underrated.

...and let's not forget the z3ta+ classic version. How many people know it has an envelope follower in it? I've been using the arpeggiator in the LFO section to chop up external audio and do all other kinds of cool EDMish things...not to mention how great the Sonitus plugs are. There's a lot of "old stuff" in SONAR that is truly wonderful, but it's ignored because either it's a) old and/or b) Cakewalk hasn't lavished any love on it lately.

it would be nice though if Cakewalk made Beatscape a 64 bit plugin; i don't use 32 bit plugins anymore

I have sonar 8.5 32 bit still installed on a older PC and enjoy working with Beatscape there. Cakewalk stated a while back there would be no further development, don't remember if that was to me personally or an overall announcement and I don't know the particulars but maybe they will revisit. It would be a welcome addition. I would certainly add my vote for a user feature request.

+1 I wish Cakewalk would update the P5-plugin Spectral Transformer to x64 too - I remember enjoying it on vocals.
