Interface disconnecting from system.

Hi
I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced anything like me with regards to the interface disconnecting from the system when attempting to activate the record button on a track? What happens is:- a slight delay after pressing the record button followed by a message about disconnection followed a few moments later by a dialog regarding audio inputs/outputs.
This is very annoying as I previously used Sonar X3 Producer and never had this problem.

Cheers

I'm going to assume that this is a USB audio interface. Go to Control Panel>Device Manager, then look for Root USB Hubs and go into properties. Under one of the tabs, there will be an option to allow the port to sleep to conserve power, (or words close to that). Make sure that it's deselected. Go into every USB root hub and Deselect that option. See if that helps.

Good morning - I took a quick look at the Cakewalk support pages, at the drivers currently available for your listed audio interface, and it does not list Windows 10 as being supported at this time.

Were you able to use the audio interface in Windows 10 with other software?  You indicated using the interface with X3, but it did not indicate which operating system that X3 was running on successfully with the interface.  Please clarify.

I am also wondering if you possibly have a Sample Rate mismatch between what the audio interface has set within its User Interface, and what is specified in Sonar.  Sometimes things can get glitchy/unstable when that happens.

Additionally, IF you are running with a Driver Mode of ASIO in Sonar, is it at all possible you also have Windows Default Audio Device set to use the audio interface at the same time?  This too can cause conflict.

Lastly, what happens when you attempt to run a separate stand-alone music program, such as Dimension Pro or Rapture, outside of Sonar when Sonar is not running?  I am attempting to determine whether or not the issue is within Sonar, or within the audio interface drivers and Windows.

Thanks for the responses.
It seems that it is indeed the audio device integral to the PC that is causing the conflict, although it wasn't doing so when using Producer X3!
I have disabled the soundcard and am now running the Cakewalk interface for the entire PC and all seems OK.

Thanks again.
