"Shuttle" style speed control in Control Module. Similar to "Scrub" but more useful

Simple concept and there are probably other threads (or maybe even ways to do this already) but having a rotary "Shuttle" style control that can be set so playback occurs more slowly upon pressing Transport Play (or faster but I would mostly use the slowdown).

I would want this mostly to listen back for very sudden, split second events that need to be edited out (like pops/crackles/etc) while being able to watch the Now Time in slow motion (zoomed WAY in) as it passes over a wave (or multiple waves or the whole project... etc).

The "Scrub" tool as it is just doesn't work very well for this stuff (if at all) and requires constant user input instead of the "Set It > Hit Play > Watch/Listen" functionality I'm looking for.

Not sure how hard or problematic it would be to code in something like that but if Scrub functionality is already there maybe this could just tap into that somehow and a new Contral Bar Module created to house the "Shuttle" knob (or even an incremental +/- entry field where percentages or BPM values can be inputted).

Does that make sense?

A true dual function variable shuttle like old tape controllers used to have would be ideal though.

Center Dial = All playback speed affected without any additional user input

Outer Ring = Must be manipulated by user to affect speed changes in real time (probably problematic but that's how the Scrub Tool currently works anyway)

Aight...

If this has already been requesting please merge.

If not and ya'll would like this looked at please upvote.

I was actually working on the mix for a song for a friend last night and was thinking of this very thing.

    Agreed.

There's a hardware product that replaces or supplements the mouse called "Contour Shuttle" that seems to promise this kind of functionality.  Has anyone had any experience with this?  Particularly, does it interface properly with Sonar?

Just like Sony's Sound Forge.  Use that function a lot.  I don't know how problematic mulit-tracks would be.

I'd love to have a variable speed scrub - Sony Sound Forge/Vegas style etc...

Very useful feature that allows quick positioning for editing.  Definately agree shuttle style speed control for playback is needed in addition to scrub.
It would be worth upgrading from Music Creator 6 to Sonar Artist.

The Lemur Sonar Remote template has a Jog shuttle. Works a treat on Android or iPad.
