Little Jimmy Dickens Hospitalized

Little Jimmy Dickens, who turned 94 on December 19th, has been in a Nashville Hospital since Christmas day and is listed in critical condition. A long-time member of the Grand Ole Opry (1948) he last performed on the night of his birthday. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1983.

Saw him at the Opry 10 years ago. His voice was weak and wavering then, but he was still an outstanding showman and knew how to work an audience.

Yep, been almost a year since his death (January 2nd, 2015). Got to see him on the Grand Ole Opry in 2004. He was a performer, a showman, and knew his craft well. We lost one of the good guys.
