Setting up Session Drummer 3 with multiple outputs -- SOLVED!

SOLUTION:  I had been using TRACK TEMPLATES and completely forgotten about it.  That's why setting the individual tracks wasn't making sense.

Hello everyone,

I know this is a total newbie question.  I had asked this like four years ago, thought I was OK, then forgot how to do it.  Even tried looking for the thread, can't find it.

Anyway, here's what I'm trying to achieve:  having each piece of the SD3 drum kit be its own track for panning, adding effects, etc.  What I'm doing isn't working.  I'm not getting any sound.

Here's my method:

-  insert MIDI track
-  insert soft synth - SD3
-  check "ALL SYNTH AUDIO OUTPUTS:  STEREO" (nothing else checked)
-  a bunch of tracks show up
-  I choose my kit and the pattern from SD3
-  I drag the little 8th note from SD3 to the first SD3 track (not the MIDI track, but the first one after that).  I have tried dragging it to the MIDI track, too.... no sound there either.

Obviously something is going wrong and I presume it's toward the last couple of steps.  What SHOULD I be doing and what should my inputs/outputs be set to?
