Intermitent latency and GUI slugishness
Hi Sometimes, out of the blue, Platinum (latest version) exibits problematic behaviour. Sometimes, I insert a Synth (last time it was Roland Groove Synth) and the latency becomes huge, (about a second long)... Other times, the now time vertical bar, instead of moving smoothly, jumpes by about one second at the time, along with the numbers that appear on the transport... I have also experienced a delayed state where when I pressed stop or play, the music would reacte with again about one second of delay... My computer isn't a rocket, (i5 750) but it was working allright with previous versions in much larger projects.. When this happens, I close and re-open Sonar and things are back to normal.... Am I the only one with these problems?

Try to find the driver that has the highest DPC and see if an update is available. Also stop any WIFI that is on, disable it. If you have a network running disable it. Look to your graphic card and disable any audio driver it is loading.

Thanks, but man, I do not know how to do this,... I will bring my computer to a pro..

To disable wifi go into control panel/device manager. It will be shine as a network connector. Right-click on it and select "disable" (not "uninstall").
The open and use Sonar. When finished with Sonar go back to device manager, right click on the wifi adaptor and pick "enable".
Wireless networking is a big cause of latency in Sonar and other Windows DAWs because the wifi driver keeps distracting Windows then the audio buffer fills up and you get audio dropouts. Disabling wifi might solve your problem and will almost certainly mean you can get lower latency once your problem has been solved if wifi isn't causing it.

I have noticed intermittent sluggishness on the new version (K). Don't have any wifi, no enabled audio drivers outside my sound card, no internet. No idea what causes it, either. Reloading works, but of course that's a many-minute process for a full project.
