sonar removal old files

I am getting a bit short of space on my ssd drive and want to remove some of my old sonar versions and duplicate files. Can some of the experts out there tell me if there are any files I should not remove. Can I also get rid of rapture etc as I have the rapture pro now and is there any need to keep 32 bit versions of instruments if I am using 64bit only. Any help would be great thanks.

Hi. I would uninstall the 32 bit plugins, if you do not need them. You can also move the Cakewalk Content (and / or libraries) to another drive (if you have).Change paths in SONAR Preferences (P), File Folder Location.
You can do this for CCC downloads as well. Click the gear icon on top right in CCC. Change download path. Copy data to new location.
All the best.

Depends on how you plan handle old projects, if any. Before deleting anything, if you wish to open old projects which may rely on old synths, you may want to open them an replace the synths first. Once you have converted everything to RPro and know the old projects sound OK, then removing DPro (especially) and Rapture (to a much lesser extent) will free up quite a bit of space.

Deleting 32bit plug-ins is not going to return much disk space. If they are DirectX plug-ins, old projects may be an issue. Deleting old versions of SONAR could be a problem if old projects rely on 32bit DirectX plug-ins.

How much a version of SONAR takes depends on what was installed. Much of SONAR is shared between versions although only samples and some config files are shared between 32bit and 64bit installations. This may give you some idea of how space is used by SONAR http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3179366
