Z3TA+2 Sample Rates
Every time I open the standalone version it has reset the sample rate. I have to manually change it to 96K, otherwise everything is "too fast". When I do do change to 96K I get the message that the registry has been updated. Next time i open the synth I have to do it all again. Am I missing something to get Z3TA+2 to remember my chosen sample setting?

If Z3TA is using the registry entry for sample rate and bit depth, that's not unique to Z3TA. Any other app, especially anything using Windows sound, will reset that to the Default Format chosen in the audio setup. Try changing it there to 96 KHz, and see what happens with Z3TA.

Are you sure? My understanding is the minihost used by Cakewalk stores all its settings by synths in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\microHost. For example, 64bit Z3ta+2 the sample rate is stored in SampleRate in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\microHost\Z3TA+ 2_64. Here is what the registry should look like when 64bit Z3ta+2 minihost is set to 96K sample rate. Seems to work as expected as long as I make sure the hardware is setup correctly without running the stand alone as administrator. I do not have a Quad Capture to test though.

Then I misspoke. What other app could be writing to that registry entry?

If you mean by "that registry entry" HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\microHost\Z3TA+ 2_64 only the minihost in the 64bit z3ta+2 plug-in folder should write to the entry. It is not clear this is a registry issue.

OK, I just did a test. I changed Z3TA's sample rate to 96K and noted that the change was saved to the registry entry Steve identified above. I exited Z3TA and restarted it. Before doing anything, I checked the registry and it was still set to 96K; it had not reverted to 48K, my normal setting. So, for me, the sample rate is NOT changing between application restarts. In any case, Z3TA provides NO feedback of what the current setting is, it only allows you to change it via the Sample Rates tab. You say that things are "too fast" when you restart Z3TA. Could you be more specific please, and provide an example? I'm confused now (OK, again; my lot in life ).

What is the audio card you are using for Z3TA+? This sounds like a function of how your driver is working with the microhost. Z3TA+ is staying at the sample rate you set in the menu, but then when you reopen the microhost, the audio driver is not switching to match.

I checked the registry for Z3TA+ and RapPro, the Quad-Capture is set a 96Khz as required.
If I open the standalone Z3TA+ and choose a program (say Crispy Arp) it plays, but too fast... as though the bpm is way too high. What I have to do is re-choose the sample rate as 96Khz then everything is fine.

Both Z3TA+ and Rapture Pro are doing the same thing. Both registry files state 96Khz. Open either of them as a stand-alone, choose any program and all the notes plays at a pitch that's sound too high. If any arp/delays are used then they are too fast, as though the bpm is set at 200+. The sample rate on the Roland Quad-Capture has not changed, it's still stating it as being 96Khz To solve this.... The only single thing I do is choose 96Khz from the Sample Rate menu. I don't exit/shut the synth down. Everything is now as it should be. Notes are now at the correct pitch and any arps/delays etc are all at the correct speed. If I close/exit Z3TA+ (or RapPro) and check the registry, they still both state 96KHz. Re-open them and I have to go through the whole process again. Grrrr.

This may be worth a shot: Open the Microhost standalone, and press Shift+F4 (function key). If the driver mode is unsupported, you should get an error message (... reset to 44.1K). If not, it may force 96K to stick on the next instantiation.

One thing you could try is running ASIO4ALL for Z3TA+/Rapture's microhost. I've seen some odd behavior with Roland drivers, so ASIO4ALL would get around that and still utilize your Quad-Capture.

ASIO4ALL works. Must be a Roland driver issue.
