Driver settings

Hi - recently got a slightly used PreSonus  Audio box 1818VSL  - it is working fine, but the Driver Settings for its inputs in the Preferences - Driver Settings menu are shown as just the odd numbers - 1.3.5.7 (I guess treating the as stereo 1/2, 3/4 etc.)- When I open the Input window on each channel, there they are shown as Left 1, Right 1, Left 3, Right 3  etc which are really interface channels 1,2,3...etc.

It does not do any good to rename the inputs in the Driver Settings menu - cause there are still only that show Is there a way to get the input settings to just simply say - channels, 1-8 ?? However in the Studio One V2 DAW that I downloaded to try with this, it does configure the inputs as 1-8 - ??!!     thanks. Merry Christmas !!!

I have Audiobox 44VSL, it's basically the same with inputs. The answer is NO, cannot label them 1-8.

    Remapping using friendly driver names
When Use friendly names to represent audio drivers is selected in Edit > Preferences > Audio - Devices,
SONAR can intelligently remap devices across different hardware configurations or driver models by using your
assigned friendly driver names, even if the hardware names do not match.
This can be very useful if you switch driver modes and load projects you worked on earlier in another driver mode,
or if you collaborate with other people who have different hardware configurations. As long as you set up friendly
names that match, all outputs will be automatically remapped.

Note: Remapping with friendly names takes precedence over the actual hardware device names.

The above is from page 146 of the user manual
