Laptop integrated sound card and ASIO4ALL

Sonar can use any sound driver that Windows uses..  This includes MME WDM ASIO and WASAPI.  If Asio4all is working one of those drivers has to be available. In the Playback and Recording section under audio in preferences what driver modes are listed?  

I would try disabling the Sound Blaster Cinema in my device manager so that ASIO4ALL only finds the Realtek when it looks for an audio card.

If it's only for editing and playback I usually use MME and a large-ish buffer.

I tried using different drivers than ASIO and Sonar complains about the default audio format which is setup to 48kHz 24bit engine. For some reason the wave profiler seems to think the Realtek can't handle 24bit. Also it is a bit strange that the only device I can actually see anywhere (device manager etc) is Realtek. But if I open up the Sound Blaster Cinema application it completely controls the sound. The laptop I'm using is MSI Gp60LE (http://www.msi.com/product/notebook/GP60-2PE-Leopard.html#hero-overview). There is only one line out available physically.

I have a laptop with a realtek and I use ASIO4ALL all the time. I also use an RME UFX in the studio, but since it's a rack mount interface, it's definitely not good for mixing tunes on the couch with my laptop!
 
I also have the soundblaster stuff, I disabled all that. 
 
Mine seems to work fine, but you have to get the ASIO4ALL driver set up right. In sonar, go to the ASIO panel and bring it up. It'll show you the ASIO4ALL panel, just make sure the only thing selected is the Realtek HD Audio output, I have 0 for both in/out latency compensation, and None of the options checked. I have my buffer set to 1024 samples.
 
With those settings, when I plug in my RME UFX, it takes over and bypasses the ASIO4ALL drivers. That allows me to use the RME as it was designed with the manufacturer ASIO drivers. 
 
When I disconnect the RME and use the lapto,. I have to go into preferences and select the ASIO4ALL output 1 in devices.
 
The reason I use ASIO4ALL instead of switching to MME or WASAPI is that for me, switching between one of those and ASIO always caused problems. I could never get it to switch back/forth seamlessly without problems. With ASIO4ALL, I switch back/forth without issue. When I plug in my RME, I do nothing and it works. When I go back all I have to do is select the 1st output in devices.

I think Sonar works really well with WDM drivers, though I usually use ASIO however (and I am not sure about this) but I think you can only use ASIO for one device, if that is a consideration.
I have never heard anything good about ASIO4ALL except when people first start using it, in the long run most people lose ASIO4ALL because of trouble. I'd try WDM if I were you. Of course using Direct Monitoring whenever you can is good too. Most people here have forgotten more than I've ever known so, YMMV.
I DO know that Sonar should see your devices and any drivers.
I also know that with specific, detailed questions. You WILL get the answer here. Always. This is the best group of people on the internet.

It seems that my Realtek can't record 24bit audio and that is messing up with WASAPI and WDM.

The good news is I found simple and quite obvious reason for ASIO4ALL problems. My buffer was set to 128 samples and it seems that's too low. I never really had any problems with the playback when recording midi or mixing so didn't think it might be the cause. But setting up the ASIO4ALL buffer to the suggested 1024 samples helped and now the projects start to play immediately. Yay!
