Possible to COMPLETELY backup/restore SONAR configuration, or run an alternate config?
I'm running SPlat on my laptop - for the most part it's hooked into my keys, controllers & Tascam US-1800 audio interface when I'm working on music, and that setup is working perfectly. However, there are times when I'm away from the rig and would like to play around with things. Unfortunately, that strikes fear in my heart, because it would require some major reconfiguration of SONAR.
The Tascam seems to work best when it's in ASIO mode - but that renders it as the only sound card, the build-in audio on the laptop doesn't run in ASIO mode (and I'd like to stay away from ASIO4ALL if possible). I'd have to switch to an alternate audio mode to use the build-in sound card - also, the suite of MIDI devices attached would be different (or non-existent), and SONAR seems to have trouble finding everything again and enabling it if I switch devices around too much.
What I'd like to be able to do is completely backup SONAR's configuration, mess around, and then restore the config as if I'd never been there. Or have some way to easily flip-flop between different configs (e.g. "Home Studio", "Gigging", "Couch").
Is SONAR's config confined to a number of easily identifiable files that could be backed up/restored to enable this, or does it also contain registry components and/or too many files for this to be practical?
