audio envelopes

I can't believe I have to ask this question.  I can't figure out how to create audio envelopes to change the volume of short individual clips.  I can't find any manual on line or with my software either.  Should there be?

    If you pull up your products in your cakewalk account, you should see the manual listed under all your available Sonar Platinum downloads. It has to be downloaded separately. It's listed as Sonar Local Documentation. Or if your DAW is online, I guess you could download it that way. I don't know. My machine is offline.
