This spamming us getting ridiculous of course no fault of cakewalk or moderators its just annoying.

Needed to find out if generated from a particular IP.
When I am seeing I am blocking the user but posts remains in the list.
Started some days back.

They had this under control for a long time. We used to get the SPAM and then new registrations were changed and eliminated it. The Spammers must have cracked the registration.

A possible restriction can be after joining one has to wait for 12/24 hours before they post.
I googled this number. Cakewalk is not the only forum. Lots for forums are posted with the same posts. But many of them are not being shown in the forum.

The three report rule was dropped a month or so after the host program was introduced. Once a host notices the spam or a ticket is created (which also alerts the hosts) the spam and spammer are handled.

How about every time you login you also must type a code which is shown in a small window. But it will need a big change and won't be used because I guess the software devs need to change the software. But it could work against spam. Edit:at least I think the code system would help against spam

Hi,
Spam is not hard to locate and track and do something about it, if folks are attentive to it. The problem is that when you have someone waiting for it, it never arrives! But the real issue should be that most mail servers should kill spoof'ing on the spot and they don't, because about one third to one half of your email would be dead.
It was originally thought that IPv6 would help because the mail servers would have to have a specific identifier, but that was killed and most big names did not take advantage of that process, including Microsoft, and many others, because they themselves use the process underneath without you knowing to get themselves information, and this same style is used by other folks to think that they got a "hit", upon which the cost and efficiency of Yahoo and Google is depending ... and until some of that gets addressed, that is the money versus abuse side of it, this crap will continue.
This is a simplified view of it ... by no means is this literal.

Ah, quitcher bellyachin'. Anybody been keeping track of how many spam posts you DIDN'T see?
If zapped spammers were tallied by notches on one's blaster, Wookie, Karyn et al would need bigger blasters for all the scores filed onto them. Yours truly tries to do his bit, but being in the GMT-8 zone most of 'em have already been dealt with by the UK platoon by the time I get up.
