Question about JBridge vs BitBridge
I have some VST plugins that are crashing Sonar. I've tried removing them all and reloading only the 64 bit ones. But one program at least (something by deHaupt) is crashing the load and ends up in a loop. Then everything crashes. I can't find the file in a search, I've googled the file name and can't find what it is related too, so before I dump the whole system and start over, would JBridge be a solution to this issue? I've heard that it works better than BitBridge with 32bit VSTs. But I've also heard it isn't fully compatible with X3 or Platinum? I don't mind buying it if it will save me the time of reloading and testing the plugins one at a time. What is really funny is that the VST setup is only looking at the 64 bit folders. So something loaded incorrectly. Thanks for any help!

It wouldn't hurt to try. I use jBridge almost exclusively with what remaining 32 bit plug-ins have. Just download the demo and see if it fixes the problem. FWIW I've found jBridge to be a better alternative to bit bridge.

Well, Sonar is still crashing. Only I can't see why. This is so frustrating. I downloaded the demo and can't really tell if it is working. But then, Sonar isn't working so, who knows. It is funny, usually ProTools is the crashing program and I end up switching to Sonar, but since I downgraded to Windows 7, Sonar is unhappy and ProTools works fine.

It would help to post your system specs. (Look at my sig for an example). It gets a lot of the basic questions out of the way during troubleshooting.

When you say "VST setup", do you mean Sonar's VST scan? Without knowing your setup, here are some basic tips: - Make sure you have separate 32 and 64 bit VST folders. - Make sure all of your VST folder paths are listed in Preferences-VST settings - After installing new plugins, do a reset/rescan (Do both)

I used to have a profile with all that stuff. It is gone. And I am so frustrated with it all right now. I think maybe I'm just not supposed to make music. Because I spend more time trying to get the darn programs to work than I do actually making music. I loaded the demo, but it is not showing up in the places it is supposed to show up. Ah, found it (the profile, not the fix) :)

Sonar Platinum, Win 7 64 bit, i7-M4710MQ CPU @ 2.5GHz, HP Envy 17, 16GB DDR3, NVidia GeForce 840M, currently using an Mbox2 mini, but it isn't working with Sonar right now. There's a Scarlett around somewhere as well as some Novation launchkeys. PT 10/11/12, Waves, NI 9, Reason 8, Autotune 7, Melodyne, EZKeys, EZDrummer, and a lot more. Because I'm good at finding sales....

Yes, I have the 32 bit plugins in one folder and the 64 bit plugins in another. Or at least that was the plan. Unfortunately, some of the plugins like to put stuff where they want to put it without giving me a choice. And now i have about 8 VST folders. And I'm still trying to figure out where a few of my instruments have gone. But, yes, I was talking about the scan. Initially, it was only showing the 64 bit - or what should be the 64 bit - folders and it was crashing. This is frustrating because I deleted and reloaded pretty much all the free ones thinking it was them. I have a bunch of DSK instruments and stuff from Computer Magazine. Most of the CM ones are all 64 bit - I didn't bother with the 32 bit ones. It also seems to scan each time I open it. I think that may be a setting.
