Lock a track when scrolling vertically

Hey there,

I tried searching for a possibility to kind of "lock" a Midi or Audio track in the track view, so when I scroll vertically so watch other tracks, the "locked" track will stay there not scrolling up or down with the others (similar to how video track behaves). Is there any way to do this in Sonar Platinum?

Thanks for help

Not that I know of, but other seasoned users can chime in. If this feature is not available, it sounds like a good idea. Similiar to what you can do with Excel where you can lock row(s) so they don't move as you scroll. Some times if I need to see to tracks next to each other (i.e. to optimize timimg, etc.) I just move the track up or down so it's in the right position for comparison.

Exactly what I was going to say (re: Excel).

The problem would probably be when you have several tracks locked and expanded enough that they won't all fit, how does SONAR reconcile that?

There is a feature request for this. I do not know of a way to achieve this as of today, but would really appreciate this feature as well.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Ya... I could probably use that meself.

In the interim though if it's ultra crucial for you what you can do is left click on the "Small Icon" of the track you wish to remain in view as you scroll then drag it down (or up) to the bottom (or top) edge of the Track View. At the bottom (or top) divider line the screen will start scrolling down (or up) and the track you have clicked on will remain where it is. Well... actually you are repositioning the track and once you release the mouse button the track will position itself in between whatever tracks happen to be there.

I am constantly moving tracks and folders around like this as I track and edit because I like to have whatever I am working on at the bottom of the track list so it's easier to navigate to in both the TV and the Console.

This type of scrolling ain't very quick though. Not like just dragging the scrollbar handle thingie or using a mouse scrollwheel.... but it would essentially work for this purpose.

Cheers.

If it's only 2 or 3 tracks that I want to see, and also have the ability to zoom in close, I'll just hit ctrl + shift + h to show just those tracks.

Agreed with you guys it would be a useful feature. I do lots of dragging of tracks around too which is okay, but this would be much quicker and easier.
